Go by your hip. If your waist and hip point to different sizes, use the hip.

How to measure

  • Use a soft cloth tape measure, not a steel builder's tape.
  • Measure over underwear or a thin base layer, not over a jersey or jacket.
  • Stand tall and relaxed — don't hold your breath or brace your stomach.
  • The tape should sit flat against you but never dig in. Snug, not tight.
  • Ask someone to help if you can. Self-measuring the chest and hip is where most mistakes happen.
  1. HipStand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your seat, keeping the tape level front to back.
  2. WaistFind the narrowest part of your middle, usually just above the navel. Rest the tape there without pulling it in.

Getting the fit right

Between two sizes?Size down for a close race fit. Size up for a more relaxed fit.
Prefer a looser fit?VanH kit is cut close to the body by design. If you don't want a race fit, take the next size up.
Check it in riding positionBibs are cut for a rider bent forward, so they can feel short in the body when you stand up straight. Judge the fit sitting on the bike, not in front of the mirror.

VanH kit is designed for a close, aerodynamic fit. Still unsure? Email info@vanh.co.za with your measurements and we’ll size you.
